Week 51 Sometimes You Don't Learn

Well I have left myself nine minutes again to try and type everything that happened this last week so In the words of a very good friend of mine here is my word vomit for the day!

This week went by so fast and we finalized all the plans for the baptism which should be tomorrow at five and cleaned the font and everything and I am super excited for her and so excited to complete this forever family! They have come a long way since we arrived and it has been so cool:)

So biggest miracle of the week happened in the form of a tombe-vous, a cancelled rendez vous where we ended up with three hours with nothing to do so we decided we would go home and get cookies and go pass by some less actives, we were sitting on the bus at the gare and I looked up at the train times and realized we didn't have time so I jumped up and off the bus and my poor blue followed me as the bus started to get ready to leave and we got on and went off a few villes away and when we got there this less active that hasn't been home for the past three months whenever we pass was home, invited us in, let us share a thought and gave us cake and then invited us for Christmas eve the next day when she found out we weren't invited anywhere!!!

We came over the next day and met all of her family who are all less actives and it was amazing they were so cool and even drove us home and now we have an excuse to drop by and say thank you and try and fix a rendez vous! She has four less active kids here and one who is active but lives near Lausanne so we don't see him but it was amazing and I ate so much food haha I thought I would die.

Then the next day we slept in until eight because we couldn't sleep longer than that, opened some presents and chilled then went to church and then off the old bishops house for another BIG meal with lots of meat and food and then skyped the family which was the best ever and then watched Finding Dory and I loved it and it has been the first real movie I have watched since Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out if that puts it into perspective for how old I am in the mission! This upcoming week I hit a year in the mission and these last six months are going to fly by I can already feel it!

This week it hit me in church that I only have two more Sundays left in Swiss and I didn't know what to do for a second because I love this ward so much and everyone here and I cant wait already to come back and see them all!

This week for Christmas we watched Joy to the World which is a church Christmas movie and I would suggest if you want to watch something short and sweet watch it it was great!

We finished off Christmas day with one more less active where we had this thing called Chinese fondue which is not at all Chinese in anyways so I have no idea why it is called Chinese but it was yummy and beef with yummy sauces and I haven't had that in forever because beef is so expensive haha but it was amazing and you should google it to figure out what I am talking about x)

We also had zone training and an exchange in Lausanne where I got to write on a building as a Christmas present which was so cool and was able to see around! I am out of time I love you all I hope you had a merry merry Christmas and have a wonderful new year!!!

Week 50: Suitcase, stairs, customs, ramps, 2 min, go

So to start off with the title of my email, this week my body reached a maximum limit where I almost just threw up and fell over haha....it wasn't pretty.

We had a BIG conference this week with Elder Sabin from the Area Presidency and so for this we had to go to Geneva the night before and then the day of at 5:58 am take a train to Lyon. So the sisters in Geneva actually live outside of Geneva so we had to take a train to get to the gare and the first train was late so we arrived at 5:56 at platform 4, and our train was 2 flights of stairs, 3 long ramps, and one nice custom box away.

Two elders met us at the doors and yelled "GO. GIVE US SUITCASES" but they actually didn't go to take our
suitcase so after half a second we(all ten sisters with five suitcases) jumped off the train and started running. Sprinting really all the way to the train to Lyon, one miracle was there were no custom officers which was good because the Swiss are already suspicious of american, badge wearing girls in long dresses, but these american,
badge wearing girls in long dresses, running with suitcases being chased by two men in suits, would have been arrested so quickly on the spot it wouldn't have been funny, but we got really lucky and made the train, because the elders held the doors open for us. It wouldn't have been as bad had we eaten but yeah.... it also wouldn't have been as bad except for the fact we had to redo this exact sprint that same night to go back to the sisters apartment! that night I could have slept outside with no blankets because we were so physically drained it didn't matter.

Me and my poor blue have been recovering since this haha but we are slowly but surely getting our strength back up:)

This week we fixed the baptismal interview with our ami Kristina and have her official date for the 27th which makes me so so excited!!! Now we just have to find white pants big enough for her husband because he is a HUGE dude!!

We also went to the farm and held baby chicks and milked a cow which was extremely difficult and I am grateful for machines! We talked about how in the world milkmaids were ever able to do their jobs because 1 cow had 20 liters of milk and it took almost 2 hours to milk her!!!

Other than that we had our ward Christmas party and everyone got to work inviting family members and friends because we ended the night with 13 amis there and 5 less actives, most of them families of members and that was sweet:) I also played the piano for the living nativity because the sister who was supposed to play the music, her guitar broke as she was warming up so they sat me down at the piano right then and had me start playing because it was time to go and I've got to say my sight reading was not that terrible haha but it was cute with the little kids:)

We have been getting ready for Christmas, lighting up the world and just having fun together:) I hope you all are rocking this Christmas season, I love you! Merry Christmas:) <3

Week 49: Christmas is Coming!

This week was a blur haha I started it out heading out to Lyon and then worked in the Val de Soane sector for two days with my Sister Cami Goold and then Wednesday we got our blues!

Mine is Sister Bonnamy which sounds like you're saying bonne ami, which means good friend and honestly when I found out her name I had some trouble figuring out it was her name haha Uur Sister Training Leader is friends with her from before the mission and so she was telling me all about her on Tuesday and I was struggling with her name but I got it now:) She is from the north of France from a city called Rances and is the sweetest thing, super quiet but that will change:) and cooks well! I am excited to learn some more French recipes this transfer:)

This week we hit the ground running by running around to rendez vous with members and less actives because we weren't there for four days in our own area and threw in some contacting which she is cute and hates haha but honestly who doesn't, we do it because we don't have anyone to teach at the moment and so we find people to teach but it is still not the most effective way. There is always better ways, members! As a mission goal we had of 1250 lessons in the presence by our mission tour on Tuesday and we are so close so we are working really hard!

Something cool though that happened though from our contacting was we were able to share the Christmas video with people we met on the streets and teach them about Christ and it was wonderful:)

This week we decorated our apartment a little for Christmas and also went to the Christmas relief society party which was fun and we got to share traditions from all of our home countries and me america haha;) it was fun:) Switzerland is such a mix, one of our members on Sunday made the joke that the tower of babel was built here because everyone speaks different languages, we were planning Christmas out with the family we are going to spend the day with and they were speaking in Spanish together, me in English with their son who was helping explain everything and then French thrown in every now and then because we all speak that haha xD It was a good moment, I am excited for Christmas and it will be here before we know it!

I love you all, continue lighting the world even with just your smiles and faces that I miss haha:)
